The brush purchased separately does not fit the cleaning rod. Will be returning. This may not be politically correct but 2 male fittings will not work in this instance!!

Q: Use with which rod? Hi, what is/are the part number(s) of the rods that will fit this brush?

A: You need to use a rod which is 5-40 thread count which is used for both .17 or .204. These items are not as popular as the standard brushes/rods so it may be more difficult to find in the market. .22 all the way up to a .45 uses a 8-32 thread count on their accessories. Shotgun uses a 5/16-27. In simpler terms, All the .17/.204 kits come with the proper rod. If you are looking for a “stand-alone” rod for only the .17 the kit still will be your best option. Most of the rods on the market are either for standard rifle (.22 an up) or shotgun. Even the adaptors that are sold for the kits work with just those two platforms. The nice thing is that the platforms are universal across the different manufactures-Outers, Hoppes, Gunslick, etc. So any .17/.204 rod should work with the brush. They are more difficult to find as it is not nearly as popular as .22 or 12 ga. Canadian Tire doesn’t necessarily stock these items all the time but you’re your reference for the Outers’ numbers is: 41644 is the one-piece cleaning rod or 91600-Aluminum rod
