Works very well so far (allergen setting is a little bit noisy) but overall seems to do a good job of cleaning up dust and allergens. If it works this well for smoke and pollen I'll give it a 5 star rating.

Amazing Hepa filter fan.

I needed to replace an older model fan in our house. We already had the HPA164C in our living room, so it was a very easy choice to buy a second unit exactly the same. Same instructions, same filters etc. The second unit is now in our bedroom, and as an addition to cleaning the air, it also serves as a White Noise (but very quiet) generator, which we like. I would highly recommend this Fan to others.

Q: How do I know when to replace Hepa filter? Does the HOneywell True Hepa Tower have a light that comes on when it's time to replace the Hepa filter or clean the prefilter or do you just vacuum prefilter whenever and replace Hepa fiilter in a year?

Q: How much volume of air per hour does it circulate? What room area does it cover? 100 m2 is not 150 sq feet, Could CT please provide accurate information?

A: I have three of these in different rooms, ranging in size from 150 sq ft bedroom, 235 sq ft office, and 400 sq ft family room. The unit may be undersized for that last room, but it seems to work fine there. I have no idea of the volume of air per hour, just that between the three of them throughout the house they seem to do a good job. I've only had to change the main HEPA filters once per year and the pre-filters twice a year.

A: I think that’s a really hard question to answer as the filter will clog up at a rate that depends on the amount of pollutants (smoke particulates, pet dander, dust) in the air at the time.

A: Hi I live in Vancouver and bought this last summer when Vancouver had some of the worst air quality in the world because of wildfires in Washington. I generally don’t have breathing issues but am allergic to things like cedar and was experiencing headaches and coughing. I really noticed an improvement after buying this air purifier. My place is quite small (650 sq ft) so one was enough.

A: Thank you for your inquiry. The A pre-filter and the A+ pre-filter come as large sheet that need to be cut to size for the air purifier. The B pre-filter is made for a specific shape and style of tower air purifier. Q: can the filter be vacumed or must replaced? the specification says it has permanent filter, but also in Q&A it says need to replace filter, I'm confused.

A: You have to replace the carbon filter, and they are not very expensive. The other filter you just wash. And the two filters inside you take out and clean with vacuum or q tips. I'll know when it comes time to clean it. If not you can buy them also at CTC I think. Not very expensive
