This kettle worked well for the first few months and then stopped abruptly. It's now a $90 paper weight. So far attempts to contact Hamilton Beach have gone nowhere. Not impressed by the quality of either the product or the response from the company. Do not recommend.

I like that this kettle does not get hot to the touch on the outside. The inside is like a canister so hopefully it won't leak as in previous kettles. Also, there is very little plastic (I feel safer when boiling water does not come in contact with any type of plastic; which is hard to find these days). I do find this kettle is very noisy while boiling.

A: The kettle is metal on the outside, I thought you would feel if the water is hot by touching the outside but the heat stays all inside. It is still going strong and I use it probably 15-20 times a day. One of the best I bought.
