The map is terrible

The map is terrible and constantly makes errors. I have to use the map on my iPhone to duplicate it. It doesn't see any traffic at all. The TomTom map was much more accurate. Overall, I don't recommend it for work or everyday use. It's a waste of money.

I needed another Garmin I was happy w/ my 55. I use the 55 in my 56 Ford Longtop as a speedometer.

Best gps I’ve used

I use this daily for work in patrol as a cop. The screen is bright easily readable and has no lag time. It’s also awesome that it uses usb to plug in and not the standard Garmin ac charger. Screen is the perfect size too. Only down side is I don’t know how to turn off the notifications from my phone as I don’t want that to inadvertently be captured on body worn video

Very easy to setup and use. The only issue i find is with the volume control. Even though it comes with the volume set on high, have a hard time hearing voice directions with window open on the highway.

Better Than Built-In Navigation

I use this in the family minivan - a 2017 Toyota Sienna. The Sienna has a built-in navigation system, but it is difficult to use and the maps are very outdated. The Garmin is SO easy to use. It pairs with my smartphone to get traffic and weather, and can even control the music that is streaming from my phone to the van's BT stereo.
I do not like using my phone for navigation. The screen on my phone is too small. It is so much more convenient to have a dedicated GPS navigator in the van that is ready to go whenever we need directions.
Map updates can be done over WiFi, but to be honest, it is still a bit of a pain. The updates take a long time to download and install.
The navigation and routing are rock solid. I often compare Garmin's routes with Google maps. Both are good and often the same. When they do select different routes, sometimes the Garmin route is better, and sometimes the Google route is better.

A: Yes you can. It comes with a fast charger with two ports as well. So you can use the cigarette lighter and charge your phone at the same time.

A: I believe it notifies you about traffic but not 100% sure as I only use it in our summer roadster. I will say it is the best Garmin I have had and this is the third unit.

A: For the most part the answer is yes. It works in Hawaii and in Australia and assuming you can get a satellite reception it should work. There are restrictions in some countries like Russia. Make sure you update the unit prior to leaving to make sure you have any updates to bring the gps up to date.
