does not fit!!!!!

I’m looking for a spark plug for my 1989 Yamaha Moto. The correct plug is an NGK D7EA. When I checked in the computer system and with one of the employees, it showed that this plug fits, and the packaging also confirmed it. It threads into the engine perfectly, but the top of the spark plug, where it connects to the ignition coil, is too large to the coil won’t attach. Unfortunately, I can’t return it, and Canadian Tire no longer sells the NGK D7EA.
