Q: can you grind the beans the night before so that it isnt noisy in the morning?

A: Yes, it’s very easy to do. Just start the brew process and once the grinder stops , turn off machine. Now you simply brew your coffee in the morning but make sure to press ” grinder off” button before brewing

Q: how long does it stay on for? does it have a self clean its self?

A: The element under the glass carafe stays on for two hours and keeps the coffee very warm. It plays a short tone before shutting off. It does not have any self-clean functions. In addition to replacing/cleaning the filter and rinsing the carafe, the grinder needs to be rinsed/cleaned after each use.
