Not suitsble for RV AC

Bought this in a pinch for a project to run some power tools. Rthought I would but something bigger than I needed to be able to run the AC in my RV off of.
It worked fine for the project I had but wont run the AC in my trailer. Just trips out as soon as the ac kicks on. Its called a 2000watt unit but is really only 1650.
Its also very loud under load. A normal conversation os 50db. Its rated at 53db, which it probably is when idling in economy mode but with a moderate load on it, it is pretty noisey.
On the upside its light enough to pickup and carry and runs for quite awhile on a rank of fuel.
No, I do not recommend this product.

I used the generator a few times now. It's light weight, easy to start, and is much quieter than my other three generators. Having read some negative reviews I had to test it plugged into my 1500W catalytic electric heater. The generator handled the heater with no problem. The propane heater in my camper died on my last trip and I kept the camper warm using my catalytic heater for 6 hours until morning. So far I've used three tanks of fuel while parked in remote areas. So far so good. I would buy this unit again.

This is the best generator I have owned

We use this to power our 27' travel trailer. It works like a charm!! Starts on the first pull, levels out quickly and sips gas. Very impressive unit.

A: YES! I use one of these for ice carving all winter long and run a 16" or 18" chainsaw and a die grinder in tandem and it handles it just fine. It doesn't like being in economy mode though - you have to have it running full out so the tools don't surge.

A: It would depend on your air conditioner’s btu’s. If you’re a/c is 5000 btu’s you would require 1466 watts (running). However most RV a/c’s are usually 13,000-15,000. So we feel comfortable stating that this model (055-0329) will not run your a/c.

A: Running two 2000W inverters in parallel will allow a total of 4000 starting watts, which will then allow you to run an air conditioner of up to 15,000 BTU's. Thank you.

Q: I am new to RV'ing. Is one of these quiet enough to use in a park setting where you don't have electrical hookup (like some Provincial park sites)? If you link two together is it significantly louder? At what distance is the sound dB measured?

A: The sound level is measured from the industry standard of 7m or 23ft. You can easily have two of these machines running in parallel at a nearly all campgrounds. You can stand next to two of these machines in parallel and have a conversation with someone without having to raise your voice, for example. Thank you.

Q: Description of Champion 2000W Portable Inverter Generator indicates "Produces clean Power for Sensitive Electronics". Does this mean it has a pure sine wave inverter?

A: Yes, absolutely. The output from all of our inverter systems is a 'pure sine wave'. The inverter generator produces AC voltage which is converted to DC then inverted back to AC in the computer control module. The end result is, a pure sine wave output with less than 3% measurable Total Harmonic Distortion.

Q: can i use it to plug in tv when rv camping? and charge my rv battery when it starts to die? my rv is new...its uses propane for fridge and stove...so i only need power for lights and tv when Im off grid. battery starts to die after 1.5 days.
