Cracked for no reason

I've had this range hood for 3 years. About a year ago I noticed a small crack in the plastic by the knob that turns it on. I thought that was strange, not sure how it got there. Now it has completely cracked and come apart. I can only think that it must've been the vibration of the fan. I have no idea how else it could've happened. Of course, there's no warranty as it's more than 1 year old.
No, I do not recommend this product.

I bought this range hood a few weeks ago and like what I got. It has different settings, two for the light, and continuous for the fan. It could be a bit more quieter, but then I would have to pay more, I think.

If you are looking for a reasonably-priced yet good hood this is the one to get. It has variable speed fan, not just a low-high like the cheaper models, and also has 2-intensity light. Fairly silent and powerful fan. Easy to install. No need to spend more for a good hood!

Q: Range hood for gas stove i noticed that some descriptions show for electrical stoves. We have a gas, nonvented stove, what type of range hood is recommended? The ducts are there for venting but have been covered over. Would this be the best way to go for a gas stove?

A: Beside the CFM, a gas stove hood MUST be vented according to most building codes.

A: You will need to use a FKM65 (52-2849-6) Charcoal filter when unit is not vented. No kit is needed for this type of installation.

Q: Mount on a wall? Can the unti be installed on a wall, instead of under a cabinet? I do not have a cabinet above my stove - just a wall with nothing on it. Thanks.

A: It is not made for that, but I already installed hoods on walls. You'll need to drill the holes yourself on the back of the hood. 4 screws screwed to the wall studs or using some kind of anchors and that vent isn't going nowhere. You should also use washers with the screws, the hood is made on tinfoil, you'll want more contact surface than a screw head. Be careful to not using the hood as a tablet and it won't bend or break either.
