Whether fixing toys for the kids or mending appliances, Bondic works where glue fails.

  • Bondic Liquid Plastic Welder Adhesive Kit is the world's first liquid plastic welder

  • Works where glue doesn't

Questions

Q: Can it be sanded after it cures?

3 Answers
  • A: Yes it can. If sanding thin layers such as on model airplane components they may detach if the surface was not cleaned and roughened beforehand to give the bondic plastic something to latch on to. It is not a glue but has some adhesive properties.

Q: What battery cell is used for the UV light?

2 Answers
  • A: Couldn’t find the info in the documentation so I opened up my light. It takes 2 x CR2016, 3 volt cells in series to give 6 volts.

Q: Will Canadian tire be selling replacement cartridges? It seems a little ridiculous that (at present) Canadian Tire sells the original kit that includes a small amount of the resin, but you have to go to the Bondic website to buy replacement resin cartridges!

Q: What is best to use to weld a crack in a plastic number

1 Answer
  • A: That would be difficult to say without a few more details on the nature of the crack and the plastic the number was made from. I will make a few suggestions based on the following assumptions. If it is a number, it is likely a hard plastic. A common one would be polypropylene. By a crack, I assume you mean the material is split but nothing missing. a crack suggests some thickness to the material. Considering all this, I would suggest superglue -cyanoacrylate-  for your repair. Bondic will not be suitable as you will not be able to get the curing UV light into the crack.

Q: Can it be used on broken bricks outdoor?

1 Answer
  • A: Bondic® can be used on broken outdoor bricks, as bricks are very porous - the Bondic® will be able to flow into each of the micro-cracks and grooves of the brick to form an anchor point. Bondic® can be used to fill in holes and chips in bricks, as long as the UV LED light is able to reach each section of the Bondic® liquid plastic. As long as the Bondic® is able to be exposed to UV Light for 4-10 seconds per square centimetre, it will be able to solidify the Bondic® liquid into hard plastic. Please remember that Bondic® is not a glue and cannot be used to glue two pieces of brick together.

Q: Can this be used as a cold solder?is it conductive?

1 Answer
  • A: No it’s not a conductive, it’s an insulator if anything at all because it’s plastic. You can use it for low volt electrical connections in the way you would use a marret connector basically but below 24 volts.

1 Answer
  • A: Due to pressure from the air compressor, it is not recommended that this product be used in this application.

Q: If I'm going to use it outdoors during winter, what is the outside temperature that it will still work? I'm going to use it on my car's lift gate handle (had a crack on it). Since it's currently winter season here at Winnipeg, I just want to know what's the outside temperature that it will successfully work. Kinda like its working temperature. Thanks

1 Answer
  • A: The fluid must be warm to flow into the crack. Once cured it is good up to -40. The surface must be clean and dry.

Q: will it work on a plastic gas tank

1 Answer
  • A: We do not recommend using Bondic® to repair gasoline containers. The expansion rates of the polyethylene or polypropylene tank won’t match that of Bondic®. We wouldn’t want a dangerous situation created. Ideally with something as volatile as fuels its best to replace the container completely!
