uneven heat, now temp seems to be low

from the beginning I found that one side toasted better than the other. now the temperature seems to be off, food is not cooking as quickly as it used to.
No, I do not recommend this product.

Heating element faulty after one year

This toaster worked great for about 10 months and then noticed it took way longer to heat up the oven function and did not hold proper heat. Frozen foods did not cook fully due to this. Also, when using the toast function I noticed the top element stopped working. Only the bottom heats up. Did not expect a toaster that cost over $100 to last less than one year :(

Poor heat . Temp set at 450 but meat thermometer says 300.

I have had this 1 month. I noticed it takes too long to cook. So I checked the temp either 2 different digital thermometers. Its only getting to 300 degrees at max setting (450)

Q: Just purchased the Countertop Oven - in the manual it talks about preheating the oven - but there are no instructions on how to do this - what temperature, for how long. Is there another tips manual with recipes as well?

A: Thank you for your question, Brian. It is only necessary to preheat the toaster oven on the bake and broil modes. It is recommended to allow the toaster oven to preheat for at least 10 minutes, at the desired temperature setting. A Black + Decker toaster oven does not feature a recipe book, as the toaster oven can be used much like a smaller version of your traditional stove. You may need to reduce the time or temperature, due to the smaller cavity space, in comparison to a traditional stove.
