Great Purchase

Used within its limitations, this is a very handy tool. I use mine for small jobs -- working on appliances, toys, hanging picture frames, curtains, etc. Its 6 volt system provides plenty of torque for these purposes. Of course for bigger jobs you'll need a more powerful tool. If you need more torque, you can simply lock the chuck and use it as a regular screwdriver. I have had my B&D screwdriver for several years and I've found it to be quite durable and easy to use. I liked it so much I even purchased rechargeable batteries and a charger for it.

Not enough torque for even a small job

We actually tried changing the batteries many times, thinking it MUST be the batteries because the unit couldn't possibly be this lame. It is. The few times we tried to use it, we ended up grabbing a regular screwdriver instead... much faster and easier.
Unfortunately we'd had it for a few months before trying it for the first time so we didn't think we could take it back to Canadian Tire at that point. Very disappointing. Not a huge amount but still a complete waste of money.
No, I do not recommend this product.

This Tool suprised me!

I bought this tool because of the price. I wasn't expecting the performance and quality. And I thought using AA batteries would really be trouble.
It has really good torque and the batteries go on and on. No charging cord or docking. It's ready to go. AA batteries are found everywhere and are easily replaced when needed.
This tool fits well in hand with controls that fall right under your thumb or finger. The collar locks the bit for manual use if more torque is required. Included are a generous number of screwdrivers and some handy size drill bits. All in all a good value.
