Bernardin jars are not the quality they were known for in the past. The jars are thinner glass and the seals have less ring on them. Sadly they are only good for short term storage.

A: The ones I've bought in the last 2 years say BPA free on the box. I would suggest throwing out any that are more than 5 years old to be sure, and never reuse the flat lids.

Q: Last year, several lid liners on these jars (silver) buckled under pressure, though didn't leak. Has problem been correcte? Has the problem been corrected?

A: No issues reported for 2015 or 2014 on buckling. The reason a lid buckles is improper band torque. If the directions are followed by applying the band fingertip tight to the point of resistance, no buckling will ever occur. The bands were evidently torqued beyond our recommendation.

A: We do not recommend microware or pouring bowling water in to the jars as it make cause thermal shock.

A: The largest jar we carry is 1L which is 1 quart. We have them in a Wide Mouth Mason Jars, 1L product #42-2530-6 and a Regular Mouth Mason Jars, 1 L product #42-2525-0.
