This Faraday pouch tested fine for my key fob. Key fob attached to outside when using vehicle and put inside pouch when I leave the car. I had one already and only used it for credit cards.

This Faraday pouch has very effectively blocked the signal between my key fob and new car. I don’t know how it will stand up over time (I think that reviews based on performance of a brand new item are of limited value. One needs a proper “road test”). Also, it needs to come with a much clearer explanation that it’s the smaller pouch that blocks the vehicle-to-fob signal. The other is for credit cards etc.

not a useful Faraday Pouch

I have purchased similar Faraday pouches before. They all function well (ie prevent keyfob scanning) but my previous purchase came with an inside key chain so that it is possible to simply tuck the keyfob into the pouch opening. This one only has an exterior fob connection (see the keyfob picture), so I have to unhook the keyfob to place in the pouch.

Non fonctionnel/Doesn't work

Ne fonctionne pas. Même avec la clé dans l'étui, je peux ouvrir les portes et démarrer le moteur.
J'ai mis un papier d'aluminium plié en 2 à l'intérieur. Quand je place la clé dans l'étui à l'intérieur du papier plié en 2, il n'y a plus de connexion avec l'auto.
Doesn't work. Can unlock car doors and start the engine with the key in the pouch.
I put a piece of folded aluminium foil inside the pouch. When I slip the key inside the folded piece of aluminium foil, there is no connection with the car.

Q: Do I have to take the key fob out of the pouch to start my car? If not, how does the pouch block the signal to others?

A: Yes you have to take the key out. I bought two of these last year. I tested them out and they worked fine then and now. By that I mean the pouches do indeed block the signal. I am not sure why others say they do not work. Except...the cover has to be closed and folded over since the signal will escape otherwise. Perhaps that is why some are saying the pouch does not block signals.
