Terrible

Was sold this as a convenient option to tire chains. Absolutely terrible. The traction it provided was worse than my snow tires, as the traction fibres quickly filled with snow and ice and became slick. Had to remove them and got better traction with my regular snow tires.

No, I do not recommend this product.

They actually worked!

I'm shocked. I installed these things in 5 minutes and drove through a pretty ridiculous amount of snow with an old Saturn sedan. The car was bottomed out and plowing snow for like 30 feet. Definitely getting my girlfriend a set of these for her car.
  • Less than 5 minutes
  • Car was bottomed out all the way through

Great purchase

Takes up barely any space, worked great, could go anywhere with bald tires in the snow. Probably don't last as long as chains but a lot easier to put on and overall more convenient

Yes, I recommend this product.

  • A: Hello Jason, I hope my comment helps you; the sizes are all the tires that can use the Autosocks; the Autosocks will adjust themselves as soon as the wheel starts running.

Q: Does British Columbia recognize these as equivalent to chains for highway use, when chains are required

1 Answer
  • A: Hi, thank you for the question. Yes, the Government of BC generally accepts tire covers like the AutoSock traction device as an acceptable replacement to tire chains. Please consult with your local government or provincial website to see weight classifications and if the AutoSock (tire covers) are accepted in lieu of tire chains for commercial trucks weighing over a certain amount.
