Leaves a weird haze like smoke in the air

This is my first cool mist humidifier and I hate it. It leaves a haze like smoke in the air and it doesn’t feel safe to breathe. I unfortunately bought it months before needing it so I can’t return (I bought it in anticipation for my new baby coming). I do not recommend this item at all
