Poor design

Very poor fit. Nearly impossible to install filter and frame without warping the fan housing (top of humidifier) causing the fan to stop or cause a fault in water level sensor.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Installation & removal

The filter itself is good, just design issues. This filter use to have plastic straps that would catch on frame cross straps when installing & removing from frame on Aircare EP9 humidifier series. Now with the glue construction, the glue straps catch the frame much more making installation & removal even harder. I would like to see the mfg. go back to the plastic straps but run the straps 90 deg. from original straps to prevent straps from catching on the frame straps.

No, I do not recommend this product.

This is a great product designed for the specific humidifier. I used to buy the Best Air product to save a couple of bucks, but the filter did not last as long and affected the performance and operation of the Aircare humidifier. Lesson learned. I just wish that they were cheaper as I replace mine on a monthly basis.

Sure helped to build the humidity in the house again. The wick is very effective. We have hard water and you can see the build up on the wick, but hope that washing it will clean it off.

Q: Can you turn the wick upside down and use once mineral buildup starts to decrease humidifying efficiency?

A: Rather than this I take out the filter and soak it in CLR for 24 hrs to get rid of minerals. I would imagine turning it upside down would extend life a bit. I also use R.O water in it.

Q: Does anyone else have issues with the MA0800 filter getting slimey, quite quickly and then it stops wicking? We are having to replace this filter much too frequently - and they are difficult to find.

A: Are you utilizing our bacteriostat? This would help with the buildup in the water. Just be sure they you use the one with water softener in it – that will ruin a wick very quickly.

A: The warranty on this product is a 1 year exchange warranty with Canadian Tire with proof of purchase. If you wish to inquire about a warranty with Aircare, their toll-free number is 1-800-547-3888. The warranty would be applicable for manufacturing defects and does not cover normal usage/wear and tear.
