A: One support is in the package, about 4-5 in wide. Enough to properly hold up to most ~8000btu units I'd say. Make sure to offset where you install it if your AC is heavier on one side and you are good to go!

Q: Does this have to be screwed into my air conditioner? As asked.

A: Nope. You just screw it down into the window sill, on the outside of the window and it will support the AC. With only a 3 degree tilt backwards it shouldnt slide anywhere assuming you have the AC duct taped or screwed into a wooden board or plexi above the AC unit.

Q: Can this be used on a crank out window?

A: The bracket sits on the window sill and hangs out the window, it uses large (2”) screws to secure to the sill, there is a leg with a rubber pad that sticks outside the window and presses up against the house. Once in, you can’t close the window until you remove the bracket

Q: will it work with vinyl window sills?

A: If there is nothing supporting the underside of the vinyl sill, the sill itself will not support the screws for the attaching of the bracket.
