What supplies do you need for welding?

To start welding, you will need a MIG or flux welder, a spool of MIG or flux core wire to form welds, and protective gear like welding gloves, goggles, and a welding helmet.

Is welding difficult?

It requires a lot of experience and professional training to make high-strength, precision welds consistently. However, making basic welds for DIY metalworking is much easier, though it may require practice.

What projects require welding supplies?

Any project involving a lot of metalworking may require welding supplies, as welding is the most dependable way to bond two pieces of metal. Common and beginner projects such as making metal decorations, furniture, crafts, trellises, and other items all require welding.

What type of solder should I use?

The type of solder you should use varies from project to project. For electronics work, a rosin-core solder is typically recommended because it provides a good electrical connection and is easier to work with. For plumbing or other metalwork that involves joining copper pipes or other metals, lead-free solders are preferred due to health and safety concerns. Always ensure that the solder you choose is compatible with the materials you're working with.
