How to Repair Battery Terminals

Can a corroded battery terminal be fixed?

If there is minor corrosion on your battery terminals, you can clean them off using a battery cleaning solution or baking soda and water with a wire brush.

How do you fix rusted battery terminals?

Cleaning the build-up and corrosion is an easy fix for your rusted battery terminals with these steps:

• Before cleaning terminals, ensure that your car’s engine is off, the battery cables are disconnected, and that you have the proper safety gear on.

• Neutralize the battery corrosion by coating the corroded areas with either a battery cleaning agent or baking soda and water if you don’t have access to commercial grade cleaners.

• Scrub the residue away with a wire brush or even a tooth brush.

• After rinsing and drying off the terminals, apply anti-corrosion pads or spray each terminal with anti-corrosive spray.
