What are the different types of hand tools?

The different types of hand tools range from common tools such as hammers, pliers, screwdrivers, wrenches, sockets, ratchets, and chisels to more specialized tools including digital calipers, torque wrenches, trowels, tile cutters, and HVAC crimpers or seamers.

What hands tools should I include in my tool sets?

Screwdrivers, pliers, a hammer, wrenches, and a small socket set are basics that should be in every tool kit. Add some marking and measuring tools and a writing utensil, and you have the start of a general-purpose tool kit that is useful for a wide range of work and that you can gradually expand.
