Too short, no D-handle

Unfortunately this was the only ice scraper in stock. The handle is too short, the blade is lightweight (and not sharpened) and it doesn't have a D-Handle on the end like all my previous scrapers. Any moderately heavy scraping and you'll end up with blisters on your hand from pushing the end with your palm.

The first impression was that I like the solid thick 3mm steel blade, but I was concerned about the blunt edge. In my first use, I like the weight in that it did some of the work. It was great in chipping the ice but had more difficulty with scraping from underneath as suspected. You still can but need much more effort. Overall. Im happy with this sturdy ice scrapper (chipper).

Q: Would this work to scrape peeling wood stain on deck?

A: It might, my customer uses it for peeling glue off OSB board, we have never tried it on stain but I would think it would work. You would have to be careful to not score the boards but keep a even pressure on the edge and you may be ok.
