A: Hello doug, There are two tabs parallel to each other one the spool cover, push the two tabs in and the cover should pop up and you can then pull offer the spool cover, once that is removed you can replace the spool. If you are having issues with this, please contact support at 1-888-909-6757.

Q: How do you change the string on a, Yardworks battery operated string trimmer?

A: How to replace the trimmer line can be found on page 13 of the operator’s manual. For quick reference see below: 1. Insert the end of line through the opening (4) in the spool housing (3). 2. Align the tabs on the spool cover with the slots in the spool housing on the trimmer head. 3. Push down on the spool cover, locking it to the spool housing. 4. To advance the line when initially installed, you must pull the line while pressing the black line release button on the side of the spool housing (3).

Q: How long does the battery last? Under normal use, dry grass, only cutting a couple of inches, how long should the battery last? What's the warranty on the battery? I've seen / heard a lot of batteries fading fairly quickly in lawn mowers and grass trimmers. Thanks.

A: Run time varies per each users lawn conditions and is based on usage of the throttle, type of grass being cut, and the amount of trimming vs. edging. To maximize the amount of run time then try these three tips: Only run the trimmer when working and not between cutting cycles, when trimming/edging try to only cut the grass and not hit any surrounding objects, and limit cuts to one pass if possible.
