Cleans well but too many drawbacks

I wanted to like this. After two Dysons, I tried this for about two months to give it a fair shot.
What it does well:
• It cleans very well — suction is strong (though it often runs on high even in Eco).
• The green light is genuinely useful for spotting hair and debris.
• The brush does not tangle at all. With a Mini Aussie and a Bernese, I never once had to clean the brush.
Why I’m returning it:
• It comes with two batteries, but both are low capacity. Cleaning both floors of my house routinely drains both batteries, and I still can’t always finish. Both of my Dysons could do the entire house with power to spare. One larger battery would have made far more sense.
• Because both batteries drain every time, I have to charge them on the counter after each clean, which makes the docking station mostly pointless.
• Even in Eco mode, the vacuum automatically ramps to high power. There is no way to lock it into low suction.
• On carpet, the suction increases so much that the power head stalls, cuts out, then surges again. There’s an airflow slider on the head that helps a bit, but it doesn’t solve the issue. This behavior also destroys battery life.
• Emptying the bin is poorly designed. Unlike Dyson, hair does not fall out when you open it. I have to remove the canister, reach in and pull hair out by hand, then remove and clean the internal diffuser. It’s messy.
Bottom line:
It cleans well, but the automatic power control, poor battery strategy, brush stalling on carpets, and awkward bin emptying make it frustrating to live with — especially if you’re coming from Dyson. Lesson learned. I’m going back to Dyson when Canadian Tire has them on sale.
For what it’s worth, I own a higher-end Tineco wet mop and it’s excellent — this vacuum just misses the mark.

Good attachments

I appreciate the fact that there are two battery packs, the item is sold as up to two hours of battery, life, but I don’t think battery life, including both of them surpasses about 40 minutes. But I do find the suction good, and I like the variety of attachments.

If there was a minus star rating I’d be putting it on this vacuum!! I’d like to know who and how much the people writing these 5 star reviews are collecting and who in these review columns don’t actually clean or haven’t used a vacuum?! This vacuum is GARBAGE!! I am an owner of 2 Dysons and have used shark vacuums regularly and this Tineco pet 3 EX is the worse I have come across. I left my home for 2 days with 2 cats roaming freely and came home to lots of cat hairs, I unboxed this vacuum and used it right away. Ran it for about 15 mins and you can barely see anything in the canister.. and I know there’s hairs , lots of them! I put down the tineco and took the Dyson and went over the same areas and the canister was half full! My Dyson sticks to my hardwood floor, the Tineco just slides over the floor like a crazy carpet on ice. Needless to say I am RETURNING THIS ITEM to Canadian tire pronto!!
