    Good stove but too small

Good quality stove but there is no way it will heat 1200 sq ft, not in canada anyway. lit for 5 hours it raised my 1000 sq ft house from 0 - 13 degess C. The major problem is that the firebox is too shallow. The wood has to be neatly stacked against the back wall so it stays in the firebox but once lit the wood settles and when the door is opened the hot embers fall out the door onto the floor causing a major fire concern. All lumber has to be split as any full log smothers the fire, not that full logs will fit in the door. The second problem it the lack of air flow into the stove, the door has to stay open until a coal bed is formed then the door can be closed otherwise the fire smolders and goes out. I returned this stove and upgraded to the drolet one capable of heating up to 2000 sq ft, these ratings are apparently overestimated. This one has a firebox twice the size and comfortably fits full sized logs but I havent tried it yet. Overall good stove if you like splitting all your lumber and are heating a small space with a large fire resistant floor.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Good stove but advertised sqft is off for Canada

This stove is our primary source of heat for about 900 sqft of not very open floor plan in inland New Brunswick and it burns beautifully, but even with it running full bore (constant temps of 500-600 F at stove side) and blower and ceiling fans on, it can't warm the house enough on very cold days. Might try an outside air intake but not sure it'll help immensely. It's a great little stove but I believe the advertised sqft is undersized for most of Canada. Probably fine if you are in parts of BC, but otherwise, I would assume 800 sqft max of well-insulated open floor plan or supplement with another heat source. The other reason for one star deducted is that the shallow firebox often causes smoke to puff out when you reload it. Also no ash tray makes cleaning messier. Stove is semi-bankable in that it'll be warm enough to easily relight in the morning but not hot enough to just toss in a log. Made in USA by Englander where most stoves now are made in China.

    Yes, I recommend this product.

    efficient and stylish

Very happy with this stove. It is very efficient and I use it to heat my 2-story 1200 sf house. I heat almost the entire house with this stove, except for the bathroom where I use electric heat. I had to get used to the fact that because of the energy efficiency, it takes a bit longer to get the fire started and burning hot...not as easy as it was with my old wood stove from the 90ies... But really efficient, and once it burns well, it sure heats up my place nicely. This stove also looks really modern and stylish...perfect!

    Yes, I recommend this product.

This stove doesn't even heat my 500 sq ft garage. It's compact alright you cannot fit any decent size junks of wood in it for a start, and you have to leave the door cracked open for at least an hour for it to catch( I have the recommended length of chimney on with a good draw).

No, I do not recommend this product.
