When buying a "universal" mount that specifically says it can be used for wall mounting, it might be nice if it tells you somewhere other than page 13 of the instructions that it doesnt come with the hardware to do the wall mounting.

Perfect Fit!

I bought a Spalding 79351 44" Backboard and Rim combination kit. I used this mount to attach this new board and rim to the top of my garage. The install was easy and the fit was perfect. My grandson can now shoot hoops in the drive way again.

Q: How far can this extend out from plat wall surface - we have about 20 inch roof overhang over our flat garage wall surface

A: There isn’t much of an overhang for this mounting bracket. This is designed to mount to the roof as close to the edge of the garage to be in line with the front of the door.

Q: How do we mount this above our garage? I have bought the universal bracket, but inside there is nothing to put into the hole in the wall.

A: As we are not sure where you are going to mount the bracket we cannot provide the hardware that would attach it to you garage for example. You will have to purchase this yourselve once you determine where you are going to attach the backboard. We also note this in our instruction manual that the hardware for mounting the bracket to the roof is not included only the hardware to mount it to a pole which is 3 1/2” diameter
