Don't let the price fool you, great reel. I bought two for different rods. Only issue I had was when I hooked a 20-25 pound pike. Trying to reel him in while he was running there was some kind of grinding noise coming from it lol. It never gave out though and still works fine :)

A: Good size reel to hold at least 200 yards of ten pound test.Excellent for trolling walleye, Casting for pike and bass fishing. Has good cranking power for most types of Canadian fishing

Q: how tough is this reel? I am looking for a reel for fall coho salmon fishing in our local rivers. Fish range from 5-10lbs therefore will want to string it with about 15 lb test line.Can this reel hold that size test and is it strong enough to fight a decent fish?

Q: Would this be a good reel for Muskie if I didn't want to use a baitcaster ??

A: You can use the Shimano Solstace 4000 reel to fish Muskie, it will just take longer to reel fish in as drag is not quite as heavy as a bait saying style reel. Also, it is a spinning reel, not a spincast reel.
