Cheap, effective fix for the hissssss!

The toilet was hissing from inside the tank. When I lifted the lid, I could see water escaping out from the top of the fill valve. I removed the cap and washed it out, but it continued to hiss after a few flushes. Replacing this little gasket for a few dollars was much cheaper than replacing the whole fill valve, much easier, and took just a few seconds. Perfect replacement fit for mine.

I bought this despite the bad reviews and now regretting it. This doesn't stop the flow of water, complete waste of money.

Not ideal for FluidMaster Valves

not ideal for Fluidmaster. I tried two of these plumb shop units on my Fluidmaster and they would allow the tank to fill once, and then not again. I got some OEM FluidMaster gaskets and it worked flawlessly.

The packaging says it's a replacement for the Fluidmaster 242 diaphragm but it doesn't make the grade. Momentarily shut off the fill, then the leaking started. Something wrong in the design or material but it doesn't seal. Went and bought the real thing and no more problems. Don't waste your time installing this generic replacement part in a Fluidmaster. Do it once and do it right.

No, I do not recommend this product.
