Champion 9000w continuous dual fuel inverter gener

I've completed the break in process on my new generator and have had an opportunity to use it to power my home during a recent power outage. While running on propane, I was able to provide sufficient power to everything I needed on the 30 amp receptacle during this recent power outage. The generator runs very quietly, much more so than my old open frame portable generator. I've only owned this Champion generator for less than a month but, I would definitely recommend it to anyone who is looking for a backup source of power.

Bad Battery, instructions poor and useless funnel

I received the 11/9Kw dual fuel generator last Saturday. When I started to prepare it to run, I found the battery was completely dead (measured 6,5V). The shipping tag on the generator was dated 2024 - Seems it could have been sitting around for 1-2 years. At 6.5V, batteries freeze at -5C and this battery would have seen that even just during delivery. It needs to be replaced.
The generator needs to have floating neutral to connect to home. No instructions provided on how to do that. Champion only referred me to a Youtube video, which is not satisfactory for inspection once connected.
The generator comes with an oil filling funnel. Nice idea, but it does not fit in the dipstick tube. Had to use something else.
I may be happier once the battery issue is resolved and I get the unit running. But first impressions not good.

Big Generator, Big Power

Have been wanting an inverter to run the house during power outages for some time. With a great points redemption event, this was the time to buy. Also wanted the ability to use propane for most of my running, with the option to put gas in for a long duration event. Was easy to assemble, only thing is the funnel is a tiny bit to big for the fill on the motor, you have to go slow or it will spill oil. Battery was not charged enough for initial start, had to leave it on a trickle charger for the night. Once charged and installed it started on propane right away. Have not put gas in it yet. Looking forward to loading up the generator once I get the plug installed on my house.
