Although the REAL standard size over the decades have been 16x24x1, these 16x25x1 work while being a snug fit. And in today's economy, its sale price was competitive.

Clears out dust but YOU MUST CHANGE IT MONTHLY!

It works Very well to clear fine dust out of the air, but MAKE SURE you change it EVERY MONTH even if you have very little dust.
We forgot, and the furnace started struggling/sputtering (new high efficiency). Turns out the filter was getting sucked right against the intake and cutting off air flow. Our gas bill doubled that month.
If we replace it monthly, it's fine. (It lasts longer on the secondary intake, but that one is looser and lets air flow around it if the filter gets too clogged.)
So if you have allergies and don't mind setting phone reminders, this is a good filter!
If you happen to be a bit forgetful, either make sure you set reminders or perhaps look for a filter that isn't as dense/air restricting if the it gets clogged.
No, I do not recommend this product.

Q: Is the Duststop Merv 6 filter Electrostatic? The Duststop website says it is, but there's no mention of this feature on Canadian Tire's site or the package.

A: This filter no longer uses electrostatic media but does offer similar performance with a lower resistance to airflow compared to the previous electrostatic version.
