We've owned T-Fal since their inception and they are a GREAT non-stick and long lasting frying pan, UNTIL we bought an induction stove top. Our new 'Induction' rated T-Fal frying pan bowed in the middle on it's 1st use at MEDIUM temp when all we wanted to do was fry and flip eggs over easy. Yeah well, NOT so easy. Back to the drawing board T-Fal. Never thought I'd say it but this thing is NOT worth the extra money for Induction.

Q: Induction cooktop pans need a fully magnetic base. How does this aluminum pan have that? What does "induction friendly"mean? Either it's fully capable or it's not! Is there a steel plate embedded in the base?

  • A: There is a metal layer on the bottom of the pan. The layer covers the bottom of the pan evenly giving an even heat to the pan when you use an induction burner.
