Q: Does it detects that its own battery is frozen and won't let it charge it? Lithium battery shouldn't be charged when frozen (ie, left in the car with temperature below freezing) as it will destroy it.

Q: I live in Edmonton where it can get quite cold. Can I keep this in my car all winter? Or will it lose its charge during the colder days like my car battery?
3 years agoA: I have had limited cold weather experience with this product. Considering that the range of an Electric Vehicle is about a third at -10°C compared to 23°C, it is safe to assume a power reduction. That said, a parallel boost connection should make up for the reduced efficiency of the lead/acid onboard unit. Also using 0-40 synthetic oil may be a help startability.

Q: This says its recommended for up to 5L gas engines, but mine is a 5.4L, do you think this product would still be effective for my vehicle? I don't want to spend the extra money on the higher output booster if I do not need to.
3 years agoA: Unfortunately, our two vehicles are 2L and 2.5L. The latter is a Benz with a monster battery which ceased to work after 15 years. I have used mine repeatedly in summer and winter and it always works like a charm. We take it all the time in case it is needed. I suspect it will work on a 5.4 L, but if you can borrow one to try before you buy, that would be best….you are helping a ‘tired’ battery, not replacing it with the booster. Hope this helps.
