The Mastercraft Carbon Steel Hole Saw Set with 5 Pieces is manufactured from carbon steel, and is used for drilling into wood, plastic, and particle board. All 5 of the durable saw blades in this Mastercraft saw set can offer a maximum cutting depth of up to ¾”, allowing you to saw shallow holes into various surfaces. This versatile saw set contains multiple electric saw blades in the following sizes: 1 ¼”, 1 ½”, 2”, and 2 ⅛”. An arbour is also included that fits every blade in the set, so you can switch between them all without having to use an adaptor. If you need to make some shallow cuts in a variety of sizes, this adaptable Mastercraft saw set will make a valuable addition to your arsenal of tools.

A: Yes, Mastercraft Carbon Hole Saw will perform the job if you drill slowly. We would recommend that a Bi-Metal hole saw is a better option due to the hardness of the wood and especially if you have to drill many holes. Hope this helps.

Q: Can it be used to cut holes in a clay flower pot ? Holes would be cut in the side of the pots.

A: A carbon hole saw cannot be used to cut holes in clay pots. A carbide grit hole saw – or something that grinds rather than cuts would be better suited for this type of application.
