Not waterproof!

I bought this umbrella about 1 month ago and just discovered that it doesn't stop rain, it only filters it. Each drop of rain turns into a micro-mist as it penetrates the fabric. I had wrongly assumed that the job of an umbrella was to provide shelter from rain but I guess they've become ornamental.
No, I do not recommend this product.

Stylish patio umbrella

This umbrella is stylish! The hand crank for opening/closing is easy to use and the tie is handy for keeping the umbrella tightly closed on windy days. The fabric canopy is supposed to be quick-drying and UV resistant, but I'd give that up for a more heavier and durable fabric. With a slight breeze the poles seem to stress the fabric corners of the canopy. I guess we'll have to see how long the fabric lasts - maybe it's stylish and strong!

A: I have this same umbrella. You have to understand that patio furniture is just for sitting out on nice days and blocking the sun. This is a great umbrella though. Does everything you could want it to.
