Additive Must Have.

Been using this ever since I put my house oil tank outside. Again cheap and easy preventative maintenance. Put in when u fill it. Not when u need it. Between the additive and using bio-fuel the results show on the yearly maintenance of cleaning the nozzle. There is minimal carbon/soot build up

Great with caveats

This is a great product but the labelling should be clearer as to what it is and is not. Looking at the product safety sheet reveals that this product is made up of isopropyl alcohol and xylene. IPA is excellent at dissolving water and reducing fuel viscosity, so it's great at preventing gelling and freezing. Xylene is a solvent and does an excellent job of removing carbon buildup in fuel systems. So this product is good for cleaning injectors and fuel systems and preventing water and wax-related flow problems in cold weather, consistent with the claims on the label. Unlike many other diesel additives, this product reduces two key factors when added to diesel: lubricity and cetane number. In other words, adding this to your fuel increases the risk of premature injector pump wear and contributes to harder starts and less-complete combustion. For this reason I would never burn this in a diesel engine without also adding a lubricity and cetane improver. My Webasto suffered from carbon buildup and started flaming out consistently to the point it was unusable. I added this product to a small amount of fuel in the recommended ratio along with some Power Service winter additive for the reasons outlined aboove, to an empty tank and ran the Webasto after driving home on the mix. The Webasto lit and stayed running on the first attempt and has run several times since without flaming out once. The filters in the overhead range hood fan in my kitchen were gummed up with grease. I put them in a shallow dish with some of this product and within minutes I could see discoloration flowing from the filters into the solvent. It did a great job of cleaning up the filters. Based on these two experiences I can say this this product is an excellent organic solvent and I recommend it highly to remove carbon buildup, but do your diesel engine a favour and use lubricity and cetane improvers along with it, and don't exceed the recommended dosage.

Yes, I recommend this product.
