Didn't like it at all. Would not heat up our living room at all. Would just blow air in our faces and dry out our eyes

Hello there,

Thanks for your review. Sorry to hear the AM05 Hot+Cool Fan has not met your expectations. You may be interested to know that the machine features ambient temperature sensing technology. It uses an intelligent thermostat to maintain your target temperature. Once your room is at the set temperature, the AM05 will switch itself off. It will then switch on and off intermittently to keep the room at your target temperature. This helps to save energy and prevents the room from overheating.

In addition to this, the machine has been tested to ensure heat projection is effective at up to 8 feet away. However, with Air Multiplier™ technology, it will still heat the entire room evenly. It is not necessary to place yourself directly in front of the fan for it to work effectively. This is likely to help avoid drying out your eyes as a result.

Q: will it help cool a room in HOT weather?

A: Hi there, this is Tia from Dyson. Happy to explain! Air conditioning units and the Dyson AM05 Hot + Cool fan are two very different products that work in very different ways. An air conditioner refrigerates the air it supplies, allowing the air in the room to be made cooler than the ambient temperature outside. The Dyson Air Multiplier™ fan cools a person by moving air over and around them. It's the air flow that from our blade-less fan that provides personal cooling effects. With that being said, you will not want to expect the ambient air in a room to drop in cooler temperatures when only using a fan. Thanks for your support of Dyson technology! Q: What size room will this unit effectively heat?

A: Hello heidiemma, The AM05 is best suited for bedrooms, an office etc. It is not a replacement for your whole house heating system. It is ideal for a room, say 500-100 square feet. The larger the room, the longer it would take to heat. The heater portions of this product act in the same way a thermostat does. After the target heating temperature has been achieved, the machine will go into standby mode as it thinks it's done its job.

A: Yes, it can be used to turn the machine on and off and to adjust oscillation, temperature in heater mode and airflow power. It’s curved and magnetized to store neatly on top of the machine.
