Weight Plates are Not Quality

The coating is constantly chipping off whenever it is being attached or detached from the bar. Pieces of coating can be found on the floor after using the plates and there are parts of the plate that are rough and sharp in places.

A: Well with regard to the other answers....I just bought a set of 35 / 10 / 5's LBS with 2 inch hole (olympic size). They also had all other weight ranges(45/25's) in same diameter. That being said, these where purchased at the Canmore store, reviewing stock at Calgary store they did not have. Same price as 1inch diameter weights. Stock number is 2X84-0054-2.

Q: Any OLYMPIC plate? I have seen some Olympic plate that looked exactly like the picture but with a 2 inch hole at a local canadian tire. But there are'nt any on this site.

A: no, these are standard plates... they are better suited for dumbbels and barbells on the thinner bars. I do think they sell the olympic plates too but I've not seen them my store

Q: Is the centre hole smooth or threaded? Can these weights be used with a smooth bar or a threaded bar, or both?

A: you can use them on smooth or threaded bars as the hole is not threaded... The threaded bars work with threaded collars, I've never seen anything threaded in the way of the weight plates.. just the bar ends for use with spin on collars

Q: Are these discontinued? Are these weights no longer being stocked? I've been into a few stores to purchase them, and they are not on the shelves, or there's at best one.

A: Ask the store people to check.. they get them in from time to time and you may see a lot or next to none. I went in to look and there was about 10 of them in the 10 lb size and some others... when I came back days later to buy them there was only 1... but I asked and they had several boxes (of 4 lb plates each) in their warehouse. I ended up buying 12x 10 lb plates or 3 boxes of them last week and they work well with the spin on collar 4x 5lb 4x 2.5lb case so I can put 70lbs on the handles.
