Stay away, bum units

We bought this to use in an industrial setting, measuring for layouts, CAD floorplans, etc. Worked great. Then, one fine day, bricked. Changed batteries, nothing. Tested the terminals and got dead short. Sent the unit in under warranty, received a replacement along with a nice note asking us to not store with the batteries inside. OK, but the battery door is convoluted and requires a screwdriver to access. Every time, if you want to use the belt clip. What a stupendous design flaw and corporate obsolescence, selling a known defective product and just hoping the storm passes while taking the small PR and sales hit. We will be going a different route when this one inevitably dies again. What a stain on the reputation of Robert Bosch.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Reliable Tool

I bought one about 5 years ago, worked every time. The only reason I writing a review now, is I was working around a pool and it fell off my Tripod stand and took three bounces and took a dip into the pool. It took me 5 to 7 minutes to get it out, still working. Great product, I would replace it if lost or damaged.

I've now blown through 2! I'm not harsh with them. I'm a contractor and I thought this is what they are made for but any little pressure on the screen and it blacks out! In your pocket, in your packout, the edges have an1/16 to at the absolute 1/8 screen clearance at the most so a coin could damage it on its face. Do better!

Terrible product!

The unit is well kept. Always put in it's case after use. Have only used it 3 times in the last 6 months and now it won't even power up. Have changed batteries, checked battery polarity and still no luck. Wish I would have read the reviews before making my purchase as it seems many others have experienced the same issue. Do better Bosch!!!
