What is a painting tray used for?
Paint trays have a reservoir for paint and a wide angled surface where paint can be rolled evenly onto a roller. Using tray liners is handy when using paint trays with different paints, so you won't have to clean the tray between uses.

Do you need a paint tray to paint?
If you're painting with rollers, a paint tray is a must-have, as it allows you to quickly and evenly soak paint into your roller for better coverage and less drips and splatter.

What are the different sizes/types of painting tray?
Most paint trays are 1.25 litres. Smaller 900-mL trays and larger 2 litre trays are also available. Most trays are made of plastic, but trays made from recycled paper pulp are also available. Make sure the width of the tray matches the rollers you will use for painting.

What are paint buckets used for?
Paint buckets are used to measure or mix paints, and can also be used for cleaning, storage, or transport after painting is done.
