Old Stock: missing plate for thermostat

The baseboard heater seems great (with a good warranty) - but I'm not yet able to install it! Canadian Tire sold me 6-year-old stock which lacks the plate with cutouts for the thermostat. It took 3 business days to sort this out with Stelpro, even though they returned my inquiries correctly. Of course, the updated cover plates are backordered, and it will be over 3 weeks until I can get them. In the meantime, I can't install them. Could have used them working overnight: the nights are getting colder!
The baseboard heaters seem great, but don't buy them from Canadian Tire!

Stelpro B series baseboard heaters

Bought to replace old baseboard heaters that were in rough shape. Easy to install and heat well. The only negative is the wall above the heater gets much hotter than the old units.

Q: Does it need 220 v power or 110 v. I would like put one of this heater in my 28ft trailer in this winter, is it enough to keep me warm?

A: Needs 220v. For whether one is enough, I’d guess that it wouldn’t be enough. Wouldn’t hurt though to start with one and go from there. They are easy enough to wire in and install.

Q: Friend recommended using a baseboard heater in my crawl space under the cottage to keep pex water pipes from freezing. space is 900 sq ft 4.5 high with iceblock. What size would you recommend?

A: Based on the 1.25W / cubic foot formula, you need 5000W. You can use 2x 2000W baseboards.

A: The general rule of thumb for heating is 10 watts per square foot with standard 8 foot ceilings. If the ceiling height is more than 8 feet we use 1.2 watts per cubic foot. 2000W would be good for a room of 200 square feet. Keep in mind a poorly insulated room may require more wattage.
