How much paint do I need?
A one-gallon can of paint will cover up to 400 square feet, enough to cover a small bathroom.
Two-gallon cans of paint covers up to 800 square feet, enough to cover an average- sized room with second coat coverage.
Three-gallon cans of paint can cover up to 1,200 square feet. This is enough to cover a large room or two average-sized rooms adjacent to each other. You may want to consider this extra can if you have vaulted ceilings.
Four-gallon cans of paint can cover up to 1,600 square feet, which is enough to cover several average-sized rooms. You might consider this amount if you have a great room or some other large room.
