Ion ice augers v.s. electric augers
...
Do I need a power source for a lithium-ion electric auger?
Ion ice augers are powered by lithium batteries. If fully charged, many of these batteries can last for up to 5 amp-hours. For day fishing excursions lasting a few hours, the lithium batteries can provide sufficient power on their own. However, having a backup battery on hand is advisable, or access to a power source for recharging during extended ice fishing trips.
How do you use an electrical auger?
Firstly, make sure that your auger has enough fuel to operate. Once on the ice, remove your blade protector, and aim your blade. Follow the manufacturers’ instructions
for starting the motor as this process can vary between different augers. Pull the auger’s recoil cord by its handle until the engine starts to run. Use the throttle to make the blade spin and grip the handles tight, push down on your auger as you drill your hole.
