Product Details

LeakSeal® Rubberized Wet Patch is a premium quality, heavily fibered, asphalt-based, roof cement blended with penetrating oils and plasticizing agents that can be applied directly to cold, hot, wet, dry or underwater surfaces. Rubberized Wet Patch can be used to repair and restore flashings and roofing defects such as blisters, cracks, and punctures. It can also be used to adhere new asphalt ply, and modified bitumen membrane flashings or seal vents, shingles, skylights, and chimneys. Rubberized Wet Patch resists sags and spreads very easily in cold conditions.

Seems to work

Very thick. But once we figured out how to apply it. Used putty knife. I have seen any leaks. Mind you its not raining but have had a few melting. To get it off your hands.. lysol wipes worked. Im not sure how long it lasts but im hoping to get a new roof next year. Did waste a few supplies like paint brushes and tray. This is not paintable.

This roof patch is so thick that you can’t spread easily on a roof good if you are patching a-big hole not so good for a small leak

A: Hi, Great question! Yes, our LeakSeal Ultimate Roof Patch can be used to seal asphalt shingles to one another. When making roof repairs or stripping over the top of flashing laps, perform a 3-course repair consisting of one application of the LeakSeal Ultimate Wet Patch followed by an embedded strip of LeakSeal Universal Patching Fabric or other mesh, followed by a final application of the LeakSeal Ultimate Wet Patch.

Q: how easy does this spread with a brush

A: Hi Bruce, Great question! Our LeakSeal Ultimate Wet Patch is to be applied with a trowel directly over the clean substrate at a rate of 1.1 m2 per 3.78 L (12 sq.ft. per 1 Gallon) and approximately 38 mm (⅛") thick. When making roof repairs or stripping over the top of flashing laps, perform a 3-course repair consisting of one application of the Ultimate Wet Patch followed by an embedded strip of LeakSeal Universal Patching Fabric or other mesh, followed by a final application of the Ultimate Wet Patch.

Q: Can Rust-Oleum LeakSeal Ultimate Wet Patch, All weather be applied to foundation as applied both cement and covered with a Rubber compound but not as thick as this one. It was a spray but about 3mm or 6mm thick.I believe area fixed needs to be looked at.

A: Hi Blair, We do not believe our Rust-Oleum LeakSeal Ultimate Wet Patch will adhere to the rubber compound and do not recommend it. Unfortunately, we do not have anything to recommend.

A: Hi New Guy, Our LeakSeal Ultimate Wet Patch was designed for exterior roofs. When using on the underside of a roof, we recommend all surfaces must be clean, sound and free from dirt, grease, oil, mold, algae, loose granules or gravel, loose paint, rust, excess chalk and other foreign matter which could prevent proper adhesion. Make sure to test on a small area first.
