Q: Sorry if I sound stupid but my gate opens in and the videos I have watch say to put the spring on the inside??? I did but nothing happened. Does it go on the outside so it streches when the gate is opened or on the inside????

A: 851368 CD-SF CL GT SPRING 12"BLK This spring has an adjustable closing tension and is designed to be more than adequate on a typical residential wooden gate. A typical gate is 3’ to 4’ wide and from 4’ to 8’ tall. There is not a weight rating on self-closing gate springs but it should work fine if the gate is close to these typical dimensions.
