What equipment is needed for soldering?
To solder, the minimum equipment required is a soldering gun or iron and solder wire. Extra accessories like specialized tips, brass sponges, flux brushes or paste, magnifying glasses and holders may be helpful depending on your soldering project.

What is the cost of solder?
Depending on the type and amount in a roll, solder wire typically costs between $15 and $25.

How much solder do I need?
One roll of soldering wire should last through at least several projects for the average user. If you do a lot of soldering, getting larger spools of wire and keeping extras at hand will be helpful.
