What material are car cloths and towels made from?

Microfibre is one of the most common materials used for car cleaning and drying cloths as it is soft, absorbent, and durable. Chamois and synthetic drying cloths are also popular materials as they are highly absorbent and won’t leave water spots, streaks, or scratches during cleaning.

Why are microfibre car cloths the best material to clean and dry cars?

Microfibre cloths are soft and gentle on your car paint and finish and won’t scratch the surface or leave swirl marks as some other materials can. They are also highly absorbent and can hold up to seven times their weight in water, meaning you can dry your car more quickly and with less effort. Plus, the tiny fibres in microfibre cloths effectively capture dirt and dust particles, making them great for general cleaning and dusting.
