How are baseball/softball helmets supposed to fit?

A snug fit is best for these helmets, with no spaces between the padding and the wearer's head. Helmets should fit straight and even on the head, and not be pointed up or down. It's recommended not to wear any other headgear under the helmet.

How do you know what size baseball/softball helmet to buy?

Helmets are usually available in youth and adult sizes. Baseball and softball helmets are sized to fit most people with a one-size-fits-all approach.

Is there a difference between baseball and softball helmets?

Protective batting helmets and other gear can be used for both sports, and there is no difference between them.

What other protective gear do I need for baseball/softball?

You may want to get a protective mask, as these can be useful for keeping your face protected. Other gear you may want to look for include leg, shin and foot guards, cups and athletic supports, and mouth guards.
