Its simple design keeps the weight of the splitter as light as possible. To split the log, simply insert the log into the Yardworks splitter and hammer it down over the 4-way log splitter wedge. The maximum diameter of wood that can be split is 10 inches (25 cm) for a 4-ton log splitter and 12-1/2 inches (32 cm) for a 6.5-ton log splitter. The maximum length of wood to split is 20-1/2 (52 cm).
