Good toy if it's on sale

I'm giving this such a high score because I got it on sale for $60. Not worth more than that. Developed a leak on second outing at one of the heat welds. Due to the dimpling there it was impossible to patch and air leaked between the patch andseam on third outing (in the second season). As someone else noted, it's nearly impossible to get the last of the water out as it gets trapped in the gap between the top and bottom chambers.

    Yes, I recommend this product.

Good fun but rinse after each use if possible!

I bought this on sale (for about $60.00) and it lasted me a full summer of fun on the lake so far! While its a bit tough to control in windy weather (best for very calm lakes) its def. worth it if you get it on sale. The only advice I offer is to clean it after use because if it dries with a pebble in it...you may get a tear and then its done for.

    Yes, I recommend this product.

    Waste of money

I purchased this Kayak so my family and I could practice kayaking at the beach. After only a couple of uses, it wouldn't stay inflated. We could still use it, but it wouldn't glide, as there was too much sinking in the middle due to underinflation. Also, when water gets into it, it is very difficult to get it out. I got this on sale, but there is no way it was even worth that price! Stick with a lower price, shorter length, hard shell, with a drain plug!

No, I do not recommend this product.

Best investment for an expencive hobby!

Bought this a few weeks ago to go kayaking with my 9 year old, she has the 8' hard shell. It has been about 30 years since I used a kayak and didn't know if I would still enjoy it. Didn't want to spend $500 for a hard shell kayak only to find out my daughter didn't enjoy kayaking. Got this one on sale and am very happy with it. Knowing what I know now, I would have purchased it at full price. It is stable in the water, easily inflated with the recomended pump, and very sturdy. The paddle that comes with it is GREAT! My husband purchased a more expencive one and I didn't like that one as much. I have beached if several times, getting in and out, to no ill effect. Great excersize and great hobby! I will be looking into a hard shell kayak at the end of season! Worth the investment for sure!!!!!

    Yes, I recommend this product.

    Fun but be careful

These are built for the beach so the kids can have fun on the water. We bought two of these last year and used them about 10 times during the summer and we did get a few small holes but they were easily patched. They are hard to track true and the wind knocks them around so stay off the big lakes and stay close to the shore. The paddles are not too bad but a little heavier than I would like. The kayaks are worth it if you get them on sale - We got ours for $50 each so at that price we're happy with the purchase. Now I'm looking at getting a real kayak so the experience was well worth the $100 Photo attached.

    Yes, I recommend this product.

    Questions

    1 - 10 of 10 Questions

Q: Is there another way to tell how much air to put in, other than the inflation scale provided? According to the scale, I filled the kayak to the max recommended, however, it still feels too "soft" to me - what am I doing wrong?

    • A: I have found that you should not put too much air in these - they don't need it. They are very stable in the water even though it may feel like they need more air. have 2 of these and love them

Q: Will this survive daily inflation/deflation? I will need to drive to the water to use this, and plan to do so almost daily this summer. Is it durable enough to do this?

    1 Answer
    • A: I think so (ours has) but it does get tedious inflating/deflating after a few times - For that reason I wouldn't recommend it for daily use.
