Q: when pressing redial can you see both the names and the number on the screen

3 Answers
  • A: When you press Redial, it ONLY shows the numerical number. But, there are 2 different caller logs aside from the Redial memory. The first is the Caller ID Log, which shows the last 50 name/numbers that have called you in chronological order, when a 51st person calls, the oldest record falls off the memory. You can scroll through this Caller ID log, and select with a single button to call that person back. You can also select to permanently store a name/number from the Caller ID log to the Permanent Phonebook Log. This Phonebook Log never erases, and records are stored in alphabetical order. You can scroll to the name, jumping ahead by pressing the button corresponding to the first letter in their name, and then 1 press to dial them. So 2 of the 3 methods have names with the numbers, but Redial does not.

Q: Can another hand set be added to this one?

2 Answers
  • A: Yes. Up to two more (total 5) can be added. the manual tells you which model handsets to buy. I was even able to register my old Philips handsets to it, but they have access to only the main features (call, ring, current call ID, answer.)

Q: Does this phone have some sort of missed call indicator? VTEC DECT 6

1 Answer
  • A: Yes, it will show on the LCD screens the number of missed calls when you come home, as well there will be the last 25 Names/Numbers in the call log (if you subscribe to Caller ID service), which shows the date and time of the call as well as the ability to 1 press redial them back.

Q: Can a list of the  50 directory numbers be added from the old Vtech to the new Vtech without having to do each one manually?

1 Answer
  • A: If you bought a new accessory handset for a pre-existing base, then it will share the bases memory and you don't have to add anything. If however you are switching out an old base for a new one, then the memory is lost and has to be reconstructed. A tip: Wait for the people to call you, then 1 button save the caller ID to the permanent Directory memory. This will recapture the old memory with less effort. A second tip, get one of our Bluetooth 'Connect-To-Cell' model home phones (DS6611-2, DS6621-2, TL86103, DS6771-3, DS6161, VS112-#), that allow you to pair your Cell phone book to the base. Then you can access the memory off the Cell.

Q: Why does the Vtech 3 handset cordless phone with digital answering phone have a near 5 star rating & the same brand with 4 handsets has only 2.5 star? Does adding 1 more handset decrease sound quality or battery life?

1 Answer
  • A: The 3 and 4 handset VTech phone have identical specs, eg: sound quality and battery life. Customer reviews are subjective to customer expectation and performance of the phone can be related to their environment or usage.
