Sad situation with a great Canadian Company

Worst possible investment ever made at a Canadian Tire Store, I love CTC and it many great stores... BUT...This bike spent more time in the repair shop of CTC than on the road. You do the math. Purchased the bike in late July of 2024 and had it in for repair 3 times for more than 2 weeks each time. In all cases the left hand pedal and or the crank assambly (That holds the 2 pedals togerther through the frame) had to be replaced. In the end and after a call to CTC corporate office, the CTC dealer gave me a credit note and allowed me to return the bicycle, that was in Mid September. Clearly there was a manufacturing defect with the left pedal and crank assambly. What good is a 1 year warranty when the bike is in the repair shop 30% of the time of it's ownership?

Would definitely NOT recommend this bike

This bike looks good.....but must be cheap materials. Pedals broke first, handgrips wore out, stand broke and then one of the small gears on the derailer broke. This bike was purchased as a birthday present for the grandson and only used from June to August, every second weekend. We bought it on sale and it was not even worth the sale price. Our friends bought the same bike for their son and had the same problems.

Best Suspension, Adjustable to Fit Riders.

Good light weight bike, adjustable to make it fit for adult as well as youth riders. One of the best suspensions I have seen lately, very responsive. Except that the plastic pedal cracked under heavy ride pressure, it performed very well. Replaced pedals with wider and stronger Schwinn pedals, all good.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Front wheel fell off while riding

Our 4.5 year old learned to ride a bike. We quickly ran out last week to invest in a couple bikes to ride along with her. Only have had them in the garage. Never left them out. Purchased assembled by CT. Well today after a handful of rides the front wheel flew off. Scrapes and bruises and probably a gnarly scar but otherwise okay. Thank god it wasn’t the one with the chariot attached and we were going very very slow at the time. I didn’t even realize it was quick release. My bad but honestly I never would have bought it had I known and please, please, please check it and make sure everything is right. So scary. Wow. The scratches on the frame show the wheel was ready to leave for a couple of rides. So lucky it failed when it did.

No, I do not recommend this product.

1 Answer
  • A: Un vélo de 24 pouces est généralement destiné aux enfants de 10 à 12 ans, mais il est important de choisir la bonne taille au préalable. La taille des roues n'est pas le seul facteur à prendre en compte lors du choix d'un vélo.
